Starting a Project — Vibe Coding and Document Work
Open a project in Doo Desk, describe what you want, and watch files appear. Code and documents, built from conversation.
Create a project in Doo Desk, and AI starts working inside your folder — writing code, drafting documents, editing files. You talk; results land as files.
This guide walks through registering a project and getting real work done in Doo Desk.
Create a project
From Doo Home or Doo Desk, hit New Project. Give it a name. mydoo creates a folder with that name automatically — no need to open File Explorer.
Select the project to open Doo Desk. Three areas, all connected:
| Area | What it does |
|---|---|
| Left — Explorer | Your project folder and file tree |
| Center — Editor | Open files, read and edit directly |
| Right — AI Chat | Give instructions; AI executes in the folder |
Say "open that file" and it appears in the center. Say "create a new file" and it shows up in the explorer.
Vibe coding — describe it, AI builds it
You don't need to write code. Describe what you want and AI handles the rest.
"Build a simple page where visitors can leave a message."
"Read this CSV and calculate monthly revenue."
Claude Code writes the code, saves the files, shows you the result. Something off? "Fix that part." You steer, AI executes. That's vibe coding — you set the direction by feel, the machine does the engineering.
Document work — briefs, reports, proposals
Doo Desk isn't just for code. Documents live here too.
"Summarize today's meeting. Minutes format."
"Draft a project brief — background, goals, execution plan."
"Read this spreadsheet and generate a summary report."
Markdown, Word, PDF, Excel — whatever format you need. Edit directly in the center panel, or tell AI "tighten section three."
Bring in existing files
Already have files? Drag them into the explorer or copy them into the project folder. Once they're inside, AI can read them immediately.
"Read this brief and tell me what's missing."
"Find all contract clauses about delivery deadlines."
Doo Folder — seeing what's accumulated
Doo Folder gives you a bird's-eye view of everything in the project. It's a dedicated file browser. If you're collaborating, your teammate's files show up here too — no emailing attachments back and forth.
What's next
You've started a project and files are building up. As they accumulate, the question becomes: "what did we decide two weeks ago?"
